About Kim
I have a very distinctive laugh.
At least, that’s what people tell me. I laugh all the time. Spend more than 10 minutes with me and I guarantee you’ll hear it at least once. At least. How could I not be happy? I’m doing something I love.
I love discovering quiet beauty in unexpected places and everyday moments. I am fascinated by people; their stories, what moves and motivates and inspires them, what brings someone to tears or incites them to action. I am beguiled by the individual connections woven between us, by the circumstances and choices leading to the serendipity of paths crossed. I tend to notice nuances; moments, glances, connections. These are the things I’m drawn to when I photograph.
If I wasn’t a photographer, I might be a writer, a sailboat captain, or a world-wandering nomad. I find spiders inherently unlikeable, and I enjoy a good riddle. I think life is too short to take yourself too seriously. I love: art that takes my breath away, the energy in a roomful of creative people, great textures, Betsy Ann chocolate truffles, yoga, spontaneous laughter, real moments, traveling, climbing trees, hammocks, Jesus, road trips, large bodies of water, red wine, and anything with pumpkin as a main ingredient.
When it comes down to it, I want to spend my time producing work that creates a better world, and have gobs of fun along the way.
