Some of you may remember Aishah and Adnan's spectacular 3-day, multi-state, wedding extravaganza last year. I'm delighted to announce that their wedding is one of the featured weddings in the current fall/winter edition of the Knot Pennsylvania.

Sharon and Jason's wedding story was published in the Pittsburgh Post Gazette on Tuesday, along with a few of my images from their wedding. If you didn't have a chance to see it in print, here's the link to the story online.

Ok, as promised, here are some more images from Amanda and Greg's engagement session in the Southside.

As lovers of Straub beer, it was only fitting that we met up at Dee's Cafe for a few before we began the session.

I'm skipping town for a few days to spend time with a good friend I haven't seen in way too long, but wanted to get a few shots up from Amanda and Gregs engagement session before I leave:

Sharon and Jason held their ceremony and reception at Twelve Oaks Mansion. The forecast had been threatening rain but it held off and was a beautiful (albeit windy), emotional day. Here are a few of my faves:

I'm happy to say that Ray and I not only completed the race on Sunday, but we both also beat our personal best times, and I exceeded my fundraising goal. Thanks so much to everyone that donated- iI really appreciate it and it is going to such a great cause.

Race time came early- I had photographed a wedding the day before and didn't get home until late, so it was about 1am by the time I got to sleep, and I was inexplicably wide awake before 6am (and trust me, that never happens). I was, however, delighted to find out on en route that my mom and my sister planned to surprise us by meeting us there to cheer us on. By the time we found parking and met up with my fam, we had missed the start of the race, so we just headed up and started on our own. We ended up converging with the people who were walking about midway through, which meant lots of dodging and weaving. Note to self: leave much, much earlier next year.

I brought my camera along to document the festivities, and ended up running the whole race with it (not to worry, it was just my point and shoot, not one of the big guys). Sadly, most of the shots I took during the race didn't turn out too well, but I'm gonna post 'em anyway. :)

Thanks again to everyone that supported me in the race. There's a 10k on Father's Day that I'm contemplating now...

This first one is from right at the beginning. Turns out it's difficult to photograph yourself and another person when you're running. Who knew? I'd also like to point out that the first mile or so was uphill, which I always forget and think is particularly cruel.


This one is a little more along the lines of what the rest of my images looked like. Crazy composition, kind of blurry, and one or both of us looking like we're going to pass out. Seriously though, check out that wind whipping through my hair.  That's because it's windy I'm really, really fast.

With my mama and my sister. I had no idea they were going to be there and it meant the world to me that they came down to cheer us on. Also, my mom is a breast cancer survivor so I'm just glad that she's here, period.

Well, I'm doing it again. Pittsburgh's Race for the Cure is this Sunday, May 10, and Ray and I will be running in it again this year. In case you don't know, the Race for the Cure is a 5k that takes place every year on Mother's Day to raise money for breast cancer research. This is a cause close to me, as my mother and and one grandmother are breast cancer survivors, while my other grandmother died from the disease.

My previous years' results have been less than stellar, but this year is the first year that I've actually spent the last few months running in preparation for the race. Those of you who know me know that I typically loathe running, although I must admit that it's recently been growing on me. (Which really just means that I curse to myself every fourth step or so, rather than every single step like before.)

I instantly loved Julia and Mike when I met them last year to discuss their wedding plans, so I was looking forward to seeing them again for their engagement session. We decided to meet in Lawrenceville, a neighborhood they've grown to love, as it is where they purchased and renovated their first home together.

It was a beautiful, although unseasonably warm, spring day in Pittsburgh, so we spent some time walking around one of the local parks and catching up on t he last few months since we'd first met (Julia passed her bar exam on the first try. Go Julia!).
